Financial Controller – 2IC to CFO

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to act as the second‑in‑command to the CFO, ensuring the finance function runs smoothly and supports the broader business. This role is based on‑site within an established ASX‑listed company and will have a direct impact on strategic financial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations and guarantee timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with key stakeholders to align financial plans with business objectives.
• Manage taxation, compliance and external audit requirements, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
• Prepare quarterly consolidated cash‑flow reports and group consolidations, delivering insights for executive decision‑making.
• Support the CFO as the primary deputy, facilitating smooth finance function performance across the organisation.

Required profile

• Proactive, hands‑on leader with a self‑starter attitude.
• Experience in an ASX‑listed environment and leading high‑performing finance teams.
• Proven track record as a Financial Controller in a complex reporting setting.
• CA or CPA qualification with strong technical accounting expertise.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment and navigate ambiguity.
• Excellent stakeholder management and partnership skills.
