Financial Accountant

About the role

This permanent position is based in Subiaco and reports to the Financial Controller. You will gain broad exposure across financial accounting, statutory reporting and compliance within a well‑established resources business, working closely with corporate finance and operational stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial reports and management reporting packs.
• Coordinate month‑end close, including journals, accruals, pre‑payments and general ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations and maintain general ledger integrity.
• Manage fixed‑asset accounting, depreciation and capital‑expenditure reporting.
• Prepare and lodge BAS, PAYG, FBT and other statutory obligations.
• Assist with statutory financial statements and year‑end audit requirements.
• Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Liaise with operational stakeholders, including site finance teams, to ensure timely and accurate financial information.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and reporting.

Required profile

• Financial Accountant or Senior Accountant experience with month‑end and year‑end reporting.
• Strong financial accounting and statutory reporting capability.
• Experience with general ledger, journals, accruals, reconciliations and fixed‑asset accounting.
• Hands‑on experience with BAS, PAYG, FBT and Australian statutory compliance.
• Experience in mining, resources or a related industry is highly regarded.
• Proficiency with Pronto or a large ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations) is highly regarded.
• CA or CPA qualified, or currently studying towards qualification.
• Full Australian working rights.
