Finance Manager – South West Sydney

About the role

The client is a well‑established commercial joinery business in Sydney, delivering large‑scale projects across the East Coast. They are looking for an experienced Finance Manager/Controller to own the finance function and partner closely with the Managing Director.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management reports, P&L, balance sheet and cash‑flow statements.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end close, reconciliations and inter‑company accounting.
• Oversee job costing, WIP, project margin analysis, progress claims and retentions.
• Forecast cash‑flow, manage working capital and handle AP, AR and weekly payroll.
• Administer BAS, IAS, PAYG, superannuation and payroll tax.
• Maintain MYOB system, drive process improvements and liaise with external accountants.

Required profile

• 5+ years as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Senior Accountant.
• Experience in construction, joinery, manufacturing or project‑based environments.
• Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, progress claims and retentions.
• Hands‑on, commercially minded with excellent Excel and reporting abilities.
• CA/CPA qualification highly regarded.
