Finance Manager

About the role

Stannards is seeking a Finance Manager to own the day‑to‑day finance function and help build the systems, reporting and capability needed for continued national growth. Reporting to the General Manager, Finance & Operations, you will work closely with senior leadership and the Board.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management reports, dashboards and board/investor reporting.
• Monitor WIP, debtors, cash flow forecasts and working capital, escalating material issues.
• Oversee payroll processing, statutory obligations (BAS, FBT, payroll tax, superannuation) and ensure timely compliance.
• Manage banking relationships, payment approvals, debt arrangements and covenant reporting.
• Lead the annual external audit, month‑end close, balance‑sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
• Develop the Accounts Manager and supervise accounts payable/receivable and trust accounts.
• Take increasing responsibility for group consolidation across multiple entities and integration of acquired businesses.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified with at least five years of relevant finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of Australian financial, tax and payroll compliance.
• Highly organised, accurate and able to manage competing deadlines.
• Comfortable communicating with senior leaders, Board members and external advisers.

Required skills

• Proficiency in cloud accounting and payroll systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
