Finance Manager - Industrial Group

About the role

Australiance is recruiting a Finance Manager for a growing Australian subsidiary of a globally listed French industrial group operating in 40+ countries. The role is based in Townsville and is not a typical finance position within an existing team: you will be the senior finance person on the ground, reporting directly to the APAC Regional CFO and working alongside the local Managing Director. You will own the finance function, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, month-end closings, cash management, audit preparation and process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead annual budgeting, multi-year forecasting and monthly reporting for Group submission
• Prepare financial statements and run variance analysis with commentary for senior leadership
• Coordinate month-end, semi-annual and annual closings with local accountants
• Prepare the business for formal audit and manage external auditor relationships
• Build and improve reporting tools, financial processes and internal controls from the ground up
• Partner with operational managers on cost optimisation, business plans and strategic projects
• Manage cash and banking relationships and oversee the move from Xero to more sophisticated systems

Required profile

• 4+ years in financial control, FP&A, or a mix of audit and industry finance
• Hands-on experience with financial statements, budgets, forecasts and monthly reporting
• Solid audit experience or audit liaison background
• CPA/CA qualified or equivalent
• Fluent English; French is highly valued
• Open to being based in Townsville or a hybrid arrangement with regular on-site presence; relocation from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne or regional Queensland is considered
