Finance Manager – Financial Accounting Leadership

About the role

BDO is seeking a highly motivated Finance Manager to lead its financial accounting team. You will oversee financial reporting, provide strategic insights, and ensure robust governance across month‑end and year‑end close processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day activities of the financial accounting team.
• Prepare and analyse monthly financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, handling reconciliations, pre‑payments, journals and accruals.
• Oversee balance‑sheet reconciliations and ensure account integrity.
• Support interim and annual audit processes, including preparation of financial statements and notes.
• Drive process improvement and leverage technology to enhance efficiency.
• Conduct weekly cash‑flow analysis and manage general cash‑flow activities.
• Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, aligning initiatives with the Finance Strategy.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified with at least 5 years of financial accounting experience, preferably in a complex group environment.
• Proven experience leading month‑end and year‑end close for large or complex entities.
• Demonstrated ability to improve processes, especially month‑end procedures.
• Experience with Workday is desirable.
• Strong communication skills and experience liaising with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, changing environment.
