Finance Manager - APAC Accounting

About the role

Melbourne Airport is looking for a proactive Finance Manager to lead APAC's financial control and accounting operations. The role ensures accurate, timely and well-controlled financial reporting and statutory compliance, and reports to the Financial Controller. It is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced finance professional with strong technical accounting expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial accounting and reporting, overseeing month-end and year-end close, journal accuracy, reconciliations, balance sheet integrity and timely reporting
• Manage fixed assets, capital and tax accounting, providing financial input to long-term modelling, capital planning and complex tax matters
• Partner with Treasury on funding and debt transactions, cash flow forecasting and liquidity requirements
• Drive technical accounting and statutory reporting, including financial statements, annual reporting and Audit, Risk and Finance Committee materials, and support evolving sustainability reporting
• Strengthen financial controls and identify improvements to processes, systems and reporting
• Coach and develop accounting team members and partner with stakeholders across APAC

Required profile

• Experience in a medium to large finance team in a public or private company
• CA or CPA qualification
• Ability to lead, coach and develop team members, set expectations and review performance
• Continuous improvement mindset

Required skills

• Strong technical accounting knowledge covering month-end, year-end, statutory reporting, audit and financial control
• Sound commercial judgement, business acumen and problem-solving skills
