Finance Lead

About the role

Reporting to the APAC Financial Controller, the Finance Lead will own financial control, statutory reporting and tax outcomes across Susquehanna’s Asia Pacific entities, including Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, India and China. This senior position provides leadership to the APAC accounting team and acts as the primary contact for auditors, tax authorities and regulators.

Key responsibilities

• Own financial control, statutory reporting and tax compliance for all APAC entities.
• Lead and develop the APAC accounting team, fostering capability and effective delivery.
• Act as the main liaison with external auditors, tax advisers, tax authorities and regulators.
• Partner with trading desks and regional business leaders on budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.
• Drive automation, continuous improvement and stronger controls across finance systems and processes.

Required profile

• Degree and postgraduate professional qualification (CPA, CA) in Finance or Accounting.
• 10–15 years post‑qualification experience, preferably across the APAC region, with proven leadership of finance/accounting teams.
• Extensive experience in statutory reporting, tax compliance and external audit relationships across multiple jurisdictions.
• Background in financial services, ideally within proprietary trading, banking or asset management.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with senior internal and external partners.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of IFRS and local reporting standards (AASB, SFRS, HKFRS, Japan GAAP, Taiwan IFRS, Ind AS, PRC GAAP, US GAAP).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with automation or coding tools such as Python or VBA.
• Interest or experience using AI tools to enhance finance processes.
