Finance Functional Specialist - D365 F&O

About the role

ABN Group, a builder, property and home finance company founded over 45 years ago, is looking for an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 (F&O) Functional Specialist to act as the primary functional lead for Finance processes. Based at its Docklands office in Melbourne, the role works closely with senior stakeholders to keep the D365 Finance platform aligned with business needs and to drive continuous improvement. The position starts on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the intention of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary functional specialist for D365 Finance & Operations, supporting and optimising Finance processes and systems.
• Partner with Finance stakeholders to understand business priorities and turn them into solutions and enhancements.
• Own and drive the Finance applications backlog, prioritising work that adds the most business value.
• Lead requirements analysis, solution design, testing and delivery of Finance system improvements.
• Support core Finance processes, troubleshoot issues and coordinate resolutions with technical teams and vendors.
• Develop functional documentation, user guides and training materials to support system adoption.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, automation and optimisation across the D365 Finance platform.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or relevant industry certifications; finance-related qualifications are a plus.
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O, especially finance modules.
• Experience delivering full-cycle D365 F&O implementations.
• Strong background in business analysis or functional consulting within ERP environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working alongside senior leaders.

Required skills

• Core finance modules: general ledger (GL), accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), fixed assets, project accounting and bank processes.
• Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
