Field Service Technician - Plant Mechanic Heavy Diesel

About the role

BTP, part of the Perenti Group, is one of Australia's largest suppliers of machinery rental, parts and services to the mining, construction and earth-moving industries. It is looking for experienced Field Service Technicians - Plant Mechanic Heavy Diesel - to join its team based in Mount Thorley, NSW. The role focuses on maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a range of CAT heavy mining equipment on customer project sites across NSW, with a strong emphasis on safety.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, diagnose and repair CAT heavy mining equipment on customer project sites throughout NSW
• Work as part of the field team with a key focus on safety
• Meet all site access requirements, including a Full Pre-Employment Medical, Coal Service History Check and National Police Clearance

Required profile

• Cert III in Mobile Plant Technology (NSW Certificate of Proficiency)
• Australian driver licence required
• Preferred: current Order 43 Coal Board medical, Dogging and Forklift HRWL, and Working at Heights and TRG training
• Preferred: experience in a customer-facing role and knowledge of occupational health and safety in the mining industry

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of CAT mining equipment with good diagnostic skills
• Firm understanding of CAT SIS and ET systems
• Problem-solving, analytical skills and a drive for quality improvement
