Field Service Technician – Forklift Maintenance

About the role

Join Toyota Material Handling Australia as a Field Service Technician supporting customers in the Queanbeyan and Canberra region. You will ensure forklifts and other material handling equipment operate reliably by delivering on‑site maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs on forklifts, reach trucks and automated handling systems.
• Carry out preventative maintenance programmes to minimise breakdowns.
• Respond promptly to service calls, providing on‑site technical support and troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate service records, job sheets and timesheets.
• Communicate with customers to understand their needs and deliver solutions that exceed expectations.
• Collaborate with the wider service team to uphold high customer‑satisfaction standards.

Required profile

• Current driver’s licence.
• Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Forklift Mechanic, Automotive Electrician, Light Vehicle Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle, Plant or Diesel Mechanic).
• Experience as a plant mechanic or in the forklift/material handling industry.
• Ability to work independently and travel away from home for at least two consecutive nights.
