Field Safety and Quality Specialist I

About the role

nbn is hiring a Field Safety and Quality Specialist I for its Adelaide Metro area. The role covers front-line safety assurance and physical quality inspections of nbn workers and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with quality requirements and recommending improvements to safe working practices. It is a permanent, full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre- and post-compliance activities across the full range of field tasks, including FTTP, FTTN, FTTB, FTTC, HFC, FW and SAT.
• Inspect nbn workers and infrastructure and take action to rectify non-compliance with nbn standards.
• Provide input and recommendations to improve safe working practices and quality processes.
• Engage with customers and community representatives to address quality-related concerns.

Required profile

• Strong experience in civil or telecommunications field operations, with knowledge of telecommunications construction and activation methods.
• Knowledge of HFC and fibre technologies and their installation processes, ideally with hands-on field engineering experience.
• Ability to coach and upskill Delivery Partner crews and supervisors, and to communicate technical or construction briefings clearly.
• Experience in aerial network construction and familiarity with South Australian legislation and operational practices are significant assets.
• Current Australian driver's licence; a criminal history check and pre-employment medical assessment are required, and full working rights in Australia are needed.
