Field Engineer – Piping

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a Piping Discipline Field Engineer to join the Eva Copper Mine Project in Cloncurry, Queensland. Reporting to the Lead Piping Field Engineer, you will provide technical oversight and mentorship to the piping field team while ensuring construction activities meet design specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret piping design drawings and specifications for installation and fabrication.
• Oversee pipe hangers, inline components, and pipe testing activities on site.
• Conduct field verification of materials and provide technical direction to field personnel.
• Coordinate with engineering to resolve constructability and design issues.
• Support construction superintendents in developing work scope packages and cost estimates for piping work.

Required profile

• Experience in piping construction engineering or a related discipline.
• Ability to mentor junior field engineers and guide on‑site teams.
• Strong understanding of piping design documentation and field verification processes.
