Field Engineer

About the role

As a Field Engineer you will act as the bridge between engineering design and on‑site delivery, ensuring that technical solutions are implemented safely and efficiently throughout the product lifecycle. You will work both independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams to investigate technical issues, perform inspections, and support maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technical investigations, equipment inspections, maintenance and testing on site.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, test instructions and engineering change documentation.
• Provide engineering support to resolve complex technical problems while meeting quality, cost and schedule targets.
• Collaborate with Babcock, ASC and customer stakeholders to ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Support equipment surveys, quality inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a technical or engineering role involving equipment maintenance, testing or fault finding.
• Accredited bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (Washington Accord).
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and produce accurate engineering records.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with customers, technicians and engineering teams.
• Experience in defence, marine, industrial or other highly regulated environments is highly regarded.
