Field Area Manager - nbn Field Services

About the role

nbn is looking for a Field Area Manager in Adelaide, reporting to the Region Area Manager and joining the Field Services business unit. The role leads a team of Field Technicians and Engineers who make a lasting impact on Australian homes and businesses. It covers all field activities across network and service elements related to the day-to-day operation of the nbn Co network within a defined geographical area.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of Field Technicians and Engineers
• Work with internal and external workforces and build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
• Advocate for field workforces to drive better practices, quality and safety standards, with a focus on continuous improvement
• Manage the day-to-day workforce so that KPIs and SLAs are met
• Balance human issues and financial controls with demanding client expectations
• Travel to meet business demands and support the team

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience leading operational or engineering teams in service delivery or service restoration
• Inclusive and supportive, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience leading change and business improvement initiatives
• Safety-first mindset, ensuring work follows the work safety system of work and critical risk controls
• Ability to communicate with GM-level executives, delivery partners and fieldwork managers
