Field Area Manager - ARCW Telecommunications

About the role

Ventia is seeking an experienced Field Area Manager for its Telecommunications team supporting the ARCW contract in Sydney. The role leads the delivery of major telecommunications infrastructure projects, managing crews and subcontractors while helping expand and maintain critical network infrastructure. It is a permanent full-time position with long-term project stability.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee field operations so projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget, leading internal crews and subcontractors
• Manage daily field operations and coordinate resources to reach project milestones
• Promote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, risk assessments and compliance activities
• Monitor subcontractor and workforce performance for quality, productivity and project outcomes
• Develop work schedules and allocate labour, equipment and materials
• Build relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders
• Track project progress, report on site activities and manage variations and as-built documentation

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in telecommunication network reallocation
• Proven experience managing subcontractors and field crews in civil construction or telecommunications
• Strong understanding of Telstra networks, DBORs, DBYD plans and telecommunications construction standards
• Stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence, with flexibility to travel and work remotely when required
