Facility Support Services Technician

About the role

Eurofins PSS, a global provider of scientific insourcing services, is hiring a Facility Support Services Technician in Melbourne. The role provides operational and technical support across GMP and non-GMP laboratory and pilot-scale manufacturing facilities, covering solution preparation, equipment support, inventory management and general facility upkeep. It supports early-phase GMP manufacturing and keeps the site compliant, clean and inspection-ready.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense raw materials, buffers, media and process solutions (up to 500L) in the Central Preparation Area in line with GMP, and perform solution adjustments, filtration, sampling and testing
• Set up and calibrate equipment such as mixers, vessels and balances, and manage consumables like NOVA systems and filters
• Support GMP manufacturing in the Clinical Protein Suite: prepare, kit and label consumables, coordinate cleaning, sterilisation and autoclave operations, and support gowning and gown/locker logistics
• Handle inventory: order goods (Ariba), receive, check stock, cycle count, monitor storage conditions and shelf life, raise purchase orders and forecast demand
• Maintain housekeeping, waste management and accurate activity records, and provide lab support such as equipment washing, sterilisation and calibration

Required profile

• Previous GMP experience (2 years or more preferred)
• Proven experience in inventory control and management, preferably in a scientific or laboratory setting
• Science diploma preferred
• Ability to work independently, solve problems and adapt to changing priorities; occasional weekend and public holiday work required
• Eligible to work in Australia/New Zealand with current work rights or an appropriate visa

Required skills

• Familiarity with inventory management software such as SAP and Ariba
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Manual handling and ability to lift heavy goods (about 10-15kg)
