Facilities Attendant

About the role

Mount Isa Mines, one of the largest mining operations in Australia, is hiring a Facilities Attendant in Mount Isa, Queensland. Reporting to the Services Superintendent, you will keep the site clean, safe and well presented while supporting a PPE laundering operation that protects the workforce. The roster is 7 days on, 7 days off.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain site facilities, equipment and work areas to a high standard of housekeeping.
• Collect, sort, launder and return up to 4,500 PPE items per shift to required standards.
• Safely operate industrial washing machines, dryers and laundry equipment.
• Work with the Facilities Services team to meet daily operational targets.
• Spot for and, where licensed and authorised, operate mobile equipment safely.
• Report equipment, facility and maintenance issues to the Facilities Supervisor.
• Perform physically demanding, repetitive tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling loads up to 30kg.

Required profile

• Manual driver's licence.
• Forklift or MR licence, or willingness to obtain one (assistance offered).
• Previous cleaning, laundry, facilities or industrial services experience is desirable but not essential.
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ability to lift, carry, push and pull loads up to 30kg and to manage a busy workload accurately.
• Experience with industrial equipment, PPE or a mining/heavy industrial environment is an advantage.
