External Audit Manager - Consumer Industrial Products

About the role

PwC Australia is hiring an External Audit Manager for its CIPS Audit team in Melbourne. You will play a key leadership role delivering high-quality external audit services, managing client relationships and leading audit engagements across a diverse portfolio of clients, from growing companies to large, complex organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution and delivery of external audit engagements in line with regulatory and professional standards
• Manage and mentor audit teams, ensuring quality, efficiency and compliance throughout the audit lifecycle
• Build strong client relationships by understanding their business, risks and audit requirements
• Oversee identification and assessment of financial and control risks and develop audit strategies to address them
• Advise clients and internal teams on financial reporting matters and emerging regulatory changes
• Drive continuous improvement in audit processes and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve complex audit issues

Required profile

• At least 5 years' experience in external audit, preferably with exposure to CIPS or related sectors
• A recognised CA qualification
• Proven ability to lead and develop audit teams and manage multiple engagements
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage and build trust with senior client stakeholders

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of auditing standards, financial reporting frameworks and regulatory requirements relevant to CIPS
• Excellent verbal and written communication, able to present complex audit findings clearly
• Ability to analyse complex financial and business issues and exercise professional judgement
