Exercise Physiologist

About the role

Altius Group's Canberra office is hiring an Exercise Physiologist to join a national, multidisciplinary team within its PeopleSense Exercise Physiology practice. You will deliver exercise physiology services to clients across personal injury and preventative health schemes, supporting them to restore physical and mental wellbeing and return to work or life after injury or illness. The workplace is hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Support clients to restore physical and mental wellbeing, achieve functional goals and return to work or life following injury or illness.
• Complete comprehensive assessments and deliver personalised, evidence-based exercise programs in gyms, pools, homes, workplaces and community settings.
• Use clinical reasoning to develop, implement and monitor client-centred plans tailored to each person's goals.
• Deliver services in line with the Clinical Framework for the Delivery of Health Services, with a focus on evidence-based care and client outcomes.
• Identify and address physical, psychological, social and environmental barriers to recovery, offering holistic strategies for return to function.
• Collaborate with other health professionals, insurers, employers and support networks.

Required profile

• Current membership with ESSA as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.
• Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
• A strong sense of initiative, excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• New graduates are welcome; structured onboarding, regular supervision and professional development pathways are offered.
• An SIRA Allied Health Practitioner number is an advantage but not essential.
