Executive Director – Pitjantjatjara/Yankunytjatjara Education Committee

About the role

The Executive Director of the Pitjantjatjara/Yankunytjatjara Education Committee (PYEC) provides senior educational leadership across the Anangu Lands. Reporting to the Education Director, the role ensures that Anangu community members are actively involved in school governance, policy, and curriculum decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the PYEC to support effective school operations and community engagement.
• Provide strategic advice and timely information to the Education Director and other government stakeholders.
• Advise on policy, curriculum direction, and governance matters affecting schools in the Anangu Lands.
• Identify and manage opportunities, risks, and issues to achieve educational goals.
• Support the implementation of the Department’s 2024 Agreement and public education strategy.

Required profile

• Fluency in Pitjantjatjara or Yankunytjatjara and English (highly desirable).
• Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualification in education or a related field (desirable).
• Willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check and complete mandatory training (RRHAN‑EC).

What we offer

• Annual salary range AU$130,046 – AU$134,956 (full‑time) plus superannuation and leave loading.
• Long‑term contract with the South Australian Department for Education.
