About the role
The Executive Director will lead a multidisciplinary portfolio of around 65 staff to deliver high‑impact programs for First Nations communities across Queensland. Reporting to the Deputy Director‑General, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, the role focuses on health, housing, education and employment outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee co‑design, delivery and evaluation of community and council programs, including the Closing the Gap Priorities Fund.
- Drive measurable outcomes, remove barriers and strengthen partnerships with First Nations businesses and government portfolios.
- Provide expert, commercially‑focused advice to Ministers and senior executives and represent Queensland in state and national forums.
- Shape the division’s operating model, aligning structures, roles and capabilities for transformative change.
- Ensure strong governance, risk management, financial discipline and accountability across all initiatives.
Required profile
- Evidence‑driven senior executive with a proven track record delivering large‑scale programs.
- Strong commercial judgement, ability to test assumptions and translate insights into clear strategies.
- Excellent negotiation, influencing and facilitation skills in complex, dynamic environments.
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and government stakeholders.
