Executive Assistant

About the role

The University of Tasmania is seeking an Executive Assistant to provide high‑level support to the Deputy Vice‑Chancellor, Health (DVCH) and other senior leaders within the Health Office. This full‑time, ongoing position is based in Hobart or Launceston and operates within the university’s largest academic portfolio, requiring strong judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the DVCH’s office interface, handling internal and external enquiries promptly and professionally.
• Prepare the DVCH for meetings and engagements through proactive briefing coordination and forward planning.
• Plan and coordinate engagements and events, ensuring effective logistics and stakeholder coordination.
• Engage proactively with Health staff to facilitate coordinated support and initiative.
• Participate in regular coordination meetings, contribute to annual planning cycles, and escalate complex matters appropriately.
• Support integrated stakeholder‑management activities across the Health portfolio.

Required profile

• Extensive experience providing high‑level executive support in a complex organisation.
• Highly developed written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with senior leaders, academic staff and external stakeholders.
• Experience implementing policies, procedures and process improvements.
• Flexible approach to work, capable of working independently and as part of a team.

What we offer

• Base salary range of $80,869 – $90,312 per annum.
• Total remuneration package up to $105,665, including 17% superannuation.
