Estimator

About the role

Fletch Collective, a BESIX Watpac company, is expanding in Queensland and is looking for an Estimator to join its team. The role covers preparing tenders and bids for construction projects, working closely with subject matter experts from construction, design management and marketing.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and prepare tenders, reviewing all aspects and requirements of each project
• Coordinate estimating with subject matter experts to develop the best possible tender
• Identify and highlight risks in head contract tender documents
• Review tender documents and allocate the right trade packages for pricing
• Prepare building quantities in line with industry practice
• Understand cost escalation and market risks and factor them into pricing
• Hand over a successful tender or bid to the nominated Project Manager

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent relevant experience
• Demonstrated experience compiling and preparing estimates for construction tenders
• Understanding of construction contracts and their cost implications
• Ability to communicate, influence and build relationships internally and externally

Required skills

• Clear understanding of industry construction techniques
• Proficiency in industry software
