Estimating Manager

About the role

The Estimating Manager will lead a nationally dispersed team of up to 10 estimators, ensuring high‑quality, accurate and timely cost proposals for both permanent modular builds and short‑to‑medium‑term relocatable structures. Based in Adelaide, the role combines leadership, governance and technical expertise to drive the transformation of the estimating function toward a fully integrated, turnkey model.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a national team of estimators across Sale and Hire lines.
• Oversee the quality, accuracy and timeliness of all estimating output.
• Set estimating standards, build and maintain CostX frameworks, and ensure consistent application across projects.
• Steer the most complex and high‑value tenders, managing dual scopes – factory manufacturing and site installation.
• Collaborate with project teams to price modular education, healthcare, defence, resources, commercial and government projects ranging from $500K to multi‑million‑dollar programmes.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing estimating teams in the construction or modular building sector.
• Strong understanding of both factory‑based fabrication costing and on‑site installation costing.
• Demonstrated ability to handle large, complex tenders and multi‑disciplinary projects.
• Leadership and governance skills with a focus on mentorship and standards setting.
• Based in Adelaide and able to work from the office on a 9‑day fortnight schedule.
