Estimating Manager - Construction & Fitout

About the role

An established construction and trade services business is creating a senior estimating position to lead and enhance its construction and fit‑out capabilities. You will work hands‑on with tenders while mentoring two developing estimators.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and prepare construction and fit‑out estimates and tenders from initial review through to submission.
• Produce accurate cost plans, take‑offs, labour and material build‑ups, and subcontractor pricing.
• Improve tender quality, including methodologies, programmes, qualifications and supporting documentation.
• Review commercial risks, scope gaps, assumptions and margins before submission.
• Develop and refine estimating software, systems, templates and cost information.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure smooth transition from tender to project delivery.

Required profile

• Strong recent estimating experience in commercial construction, fit‑out or refurbishment projects.
• Confidence managing tenders from documentation to final submission.
• Ability to mentor less experienced estimators without formal management duties.
• Calm, considered and cooperative approach.

Required skills

• Experience producing high‑quality tender methodologies and documentation.
• Understanding of construction costs, subcontractor packages, programmes and commercial risk.
