Equity Portfolio Manager

About the role

CSIRO is seeking an experienced Equity Portfolio Manager to lead the strategic portfolio of equity investments and commercialisation ventures. The role will work closely with portfolio company leadership, CSIRO‑appointed nominee directors, researchers and external stakeholders to maximise the value and impact of CSIRO’s investments.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor portfolio company performance, including operational developments, capital‑raising activities and progress against strategic and commercial milestones.
• Manage shareholder‑related matters, prepare briefing papers and review documentation to support decision‑making.
• Support CSIRO‑appointed nominee directors in fulfilling board responsibilities.
• Perform portfolio valuations and assist with financial reporting, audit and governance requirements.
• Develop exit, realisation and conversion strategies to optimise portfolio outcomes.
• Contribute to external communications and stakeholder‑engagement activities that showcase the impact of CSIRO’s equity investments.

Required profile

• Degree‑level qualification in commerce, finance, law, accounting or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in equity transactions, investment management and valuation principles.
• Strong analytical ability to assess portfolio performance and advise on strategic decisions.
• Experience working with senior leadership teams, board directors and diverse external stakeholders.

What we offer

• Salary range AU$163,000 – AU$180,000 per annum plus 15.4 % superannuation.
