Environmental Services (Outdoor Cleaner)

About the role

TriCare's Compton Gardens Retirement Community in Aspley, Queensland, is looking for a reliable, community-focused Environmental Services (Outdoor Cleaner) for a permanent part-time role of 75 hours per fortnight. The position sits within the Village team and reports to the Village Manager, with the purpose of keeping the external appearance of the village buildings and surrounds clean and presentable at all times.

Key responsibilities

• Sweep and leaf blow footpaths and common areas, and clean village entrances, outdoor corridors, stairs and lifts.
• Clean outdoor furniture, bollards, mailboxes, bin enclosures and external windows, doors, screens and tracks.
• Maintain pool areas, BBQ facilities, recreation spaces, bathrooms and change rooms, and clean village vehicles as required.
• Manage waste collection areas, coordinate bins for collection and keep them clean and tidy.
• Undertake high-pressure cleaning of paths and external surfaces, and perform gardening tasks such as weeding, pruning and general tidying.
• Monitor and assist the gardening team with irrigation, and assist with cleaning light fittings, fans and air vents.
• Keep infection control, hygiene and safety standards, and follow work health and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years' cleaning experience in a service-based environment.
• Current First Aid certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
• Current driver's licence preferred.
• Able to undertake physically demanding work including lifting, bending and outdoor duties.
• Police clearance and health check requirements apply.

Required skills

• Excellent cleaning skills and knowledge of cleaning workflows.
• Knowledge of chemicals and associated safety precautions, and of cleaning equipment operation.
• Customer service and communication skills.

Remuneration is set at Level 3 of the Aged Care Award at $29.62 per hour. Applications are made through SEEK, and recruiters are not considered.
