Environment, Health & Safety Intern

About the role

Caterpillar is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented and enthusiastic Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Intern to join its Melbourne Distribution Centre. The internship suits a university student wanting hands-on experience in workplace safety, compliance, risk management and project coordination within a global organisation. Working closely with business leaders, the intern contributes to initiatives that support a safe, healthy and compliant workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Safety project coordination
• Policy and procedure development
• Workplace inspections
• Risk assessments
• Training administration
• Data analysis and reporting
• Compliance tracking and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborating with stakeholders across functions to help build a strong safety culture

Required profile

• University student
• Basic knowledge of workplace health and safety principles, risk assessment and compliance requirements
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with accurate record keeping
• Ability to communicate with stakeholders and work collaboratively across teams
• Proactive, self-motivated and eager to learn
