Entry-Level Bulk Material Handling Operator (Olympic Dam)

About the role

Ventia is seeking entry‑level operators to support the BHP smelter at Olympic Dam. You will operate dump trucks, water carts and fuel trucks, moving bulk materials such as slag, sand, water and fuel while adhering to strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including Moxie dump trucks, water carts and fuel trucks.
• Load, unload, relocate and distribute bulk materials on site.
• Follow all safety procedures and site regulations.
• Participate in on‑the‑job training for additional equipment (slag haulers, excavators, loaders, mobile crushers, track screen, integrated tool carriers).

Required profile

• Valid HR (or higher) driver’s licence.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, safety‑focused attitude.
• Willingness to undergo a medical examination, drug and alcohol testing and obtain a clear police check.

Required skills

• Operation of heavy dump trucks, water carts and fuel trucks.
