Enrolled Nurse – Women's Correctional Facility (DPFC)

About the role

Western Health is seeking an Enrolled Nurse to join the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre (DPFC) in Ravenhall, Melbourne. DPFC is a 24‑hour women’s correctional facility providing acute, primary and mental health services. The role involves delivering high‑quality nursing care to incarcerated women across a range of clinical settings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within primary care, women’s health, mental health, and medication management services.
• Conduct nursing triage, clinical assessments and administer treatments in accordance with correctional protocols.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Corrections Victoria staff, doctors, allied health professionals and community specialists.
• Support advanced care planning, diagnostic services (radiology, pathology) and dental health initiatives.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and manage workload in a fast‑paced, 24‑hour environment.
• Participate in rotating roster to ensure 24‑hour coverage.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of nursing experience (excluding placements) in an acute hospital, correctional facility, primary care clinic or relevant specialty such as women’s health, mental health or alcohol and other drugs services.
• Recent clinic experience with strong general and clinical knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic, demanding environment and work effectively with a broad multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to work a rotating roster.
