English Teacher (Years 7-12)

About the role

Greenwood College, a school in the Western Australian Department of Education, is seeking an English teacher for a twelve-month fixed-term, full-time position starting in Term 1, 2027, with possible extension and/or permanency. The post is part of a recruitment pilot that simplifies teacher applications: only the attached CV template is accepted, with two short responses to AITSL domains.

Key responsibilities

• Support the collaborative approach to curriculum planning in the English Learning Area.
• Provide learning programmes suited to the needs of the school community.
• Model exemplary teaching and learning strategies in delivering the WA Curriculum.
• Use data literacy to modify practice to meet identified student needs.
• Liaise with colleagues, parents and external networks to build community partnerships.

Required profile

• An eligible teacher qualification and registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
• Australian, New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency or a valid visa with work rights for the term of appointment.
• Valid Working with Children Check and a current Screening Clearance Number after a criminal history check.
• Extensive knowledge of the WA English Curriculum for Years 7 to 10, and Year 11 and 12 General and ATAR courses, is highly desirable.
