Engineering Manager

About the role

You will lead engineers across several small squads, reporting to the CTO, and own end‑to‑end delivery of the SMS roadmap. This hands‑on leadership role requires visibility, accountability, and the ability to grow people and teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own delivery schedules, regression windows and change logs for the SMS roadmap.
• Manage capacity and workload, balancing feature delivery, operational work and technical debt.
• Run weekly squad‑health reviews, maintain delivery hygiene in Jira, and ensure SLA compliance.
• Hold regular 1:1s, coach, mentor, and lead performance reviews and promotions.
• Partner with Technical Leads, Product, Design, QA, Platform, LMS Engineering and Customer Support.
• Drive improvements in incident management, CI/CD, testing and overall engineering practice.

Required profile

• 2–5 years leading software engineering teams with proven performance management.
• Hands‑on experience building SaaS or cloud‑based applications.
• Strong track record in project delivery, schedule governance, capacity planning and escalation.
• Ability to hold teams to high standards of work hygiene and oversee deliverables.
• Solid knowledge of Scrum or Kanban methodologies.

• Building and running CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
