Engineering Manager (APAC)

About the role

Metrea is establishing its AERO footprint in Australia and seeks an Engineering Manager (APAC) to align aircraft design and modification with Australian customer requirements, including certification and compliance under CASA regulations. The role reports to the Head of AERO and works closely with the Head of Airborne Asset Adaptation.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate systems engineering activities and produce artefacts such as Requirements Traceability Matrices and System Requirements Documents.
• Develop verification and validation (V&V) plans, Acceptance Test Plans and Procedures for systems entering service.
• Act as Australian Test Manager, preparing assets for Test and Readiness Reviews, Operational Test and Evaluation, and Acceptance activities.
• Provide Part 21 design and modification expertise for airborne asset roadmaps, supporting both regional and global programmes.

Required profile

• Professional systems engineering qualification up to CEng level.
• Extensive experience in aircraft design and modification within highly regulated environments.
• Deep knowledge of CASA certification frameworks (Part 138, 145, 42, 21) and Australian government requirement methodologies.
• Proven track record in complex aircraft test and acceptance management and major programme/project leadership.

Required skills

• Microsoft Project certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of quality management systems such as AS9100.
• Expertise in CASA certification processes and Part 21 design standards.
