Engineer, Grid & Balance of Plant (EBoP)

About the role

Vestas Australia is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead Grid and Balance of Plant (EBoP) activities for renewable energy projects across the APAC region. The role bridges technical design, stakeholder management and service delivery from pre‑sales through construction and operation.

Key responsibilities

• Review BoP designs, drawings and documentation from subcontractors against industry standards, local regulations and Vestas contractual requirements.
• Support power system studies to define wind‑farm generator performance, control system specifications and reactive plant needs.
• Coordinate with the grid modelling department and perform simulation of wind, PV and storage assets.
• Prepare formal technical responses, presentations and reports for customers and internal teams.
• Ensure timely, safe and high‑quality delivery of grid‑connection deliverables.
• Assess performance, efficiency and reliability of BoP systems, diagnose issues and drive root‑cause resolution.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, manage consultants and participate in safety, design and risk meetings.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of all grid‑connection activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with strong power‑systems knowledge.
• Proven experience in grid‑connection, balance‑of‑plant design and power system studies for renewable energy projects.
• Ability to work across multiple projects and regions, handling technical and stakeholder responsibilities.
