Engineer – Flooding & Stormwater

About the role

The Flooding & Stormwater Engineer will join Egis Group’s Victorian Stormwater and Flooding team, delivering hydrological investigations, hydraulic modelling and Water Sensitive Urban Design solutions for a diverse portfolio of projects.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake flood studies, impact assessments and stormwater management plans.
• Develop hydraulic and hydrological models, including 1D and 2D flood modelling.
• Create water balance and water quality treatment models.
• Perform civil engineering calculations to support WSUD infrastructure design.
• Prepare GIS databases and maps using QGIS, ArcGIS or MapInfo.
• Produce technical reports documenting methodology and findings.

Required profile

• Minimum 2+ years of professional experience in flooding and stormwater engineering within a consultancy.
• Tertiary degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Ability to work effectively in a team with support from senior staff.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organisational and analytical skills.

Required skills

• GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo).
• Hydrology software RORB.
• Hydraulic modelling software TUFLOW.
• Water quality modelling software MUSIC.
