Engine Shop Technician

About the role

StandardAero, an MRO provider in the aerospace field, is looking for an Engine Technician to support its growing and varied customer base across APAC. The role is based in the Brisbane workshop and is a permanent full-time position with overtime available; it is classified as a safety-sensitive aviation activity and must comply with the company's drugs and alcohol policy.

Key responsibilities

• Receive incoming gas turbine engines and disassemble them as required
• Clean engine components and perform visual and detail inspections, including boroscope inspections
• Balance rotating components and assemble main engines, modules and sub-assemblies
• Flow test components and assemblies, test engines and prepare them for dispatch
• Complete Requests for Action (RFA) as needed and plan work to meet daily targets and customer requirements
• Take part in continuous improvement programs and act as a continuous improvement champion when required
• Use IT systems appropriately and carry out other duties that help departmental efficiency

Required profile

• Certificate IV Aeroskills or equivalent
• Heavy Maintenance Course on the PT6A engine, or 2 years' experience as an Engine Shop Technician on PT6A series
• Complete P&WC PT6A engine course
• Experience on PT6A, PW100 or JT15D engine types

Required skills

• Ability to use manual and electronic tooling
• Working knowledge of Pratt & Whitney publications, overhaul and maintenance manuals, parts catalogues and service bulletins
