Employee Relations Specialist (Part-Time or Full-Time, Hybrid)

About the role

A newly created Employee Relations Specialist position sits within a refreshed People Risk & Compliance function of a national law firm, reporting to the Head of People Risk & Compliance and the P&C Business Partners. The role strengthens the firm's people compliance framework and builds ER capability across the business. It is offered part-time or full-time (3, 4 or 5 days per week) with hybrid working and flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex and sensitive ER matters end-to-end, including performance, conduct, grievances and investigations
• Identify workplace risks proactively and advise on mitigation strategies, controls and defensible decision-making
• Interpret and apply industrial instruments, including the Legal Services Award
• Draft and evolve ER frameworks such as policies, procedures, guidance notes and supporting materials
• Coach and uplift capability across P&C and leaders, embedding early intervention and consistent practice
• Contribute to people risk, safety and compliance projects, including psychosocial safety, positive duty, privacy and governance initiatives

Required profile

• Strong technical ER capability, including investigations, procedural fairness and documentation
• Ability to interpret awards and turn obligations into practical, commercial advice
• Ideal for HR generalists, ER specialists, IR specialists or external ER consultants looking to move in-house
