Emergency Veterinarian (ECC) - Collingwood

About the role

CARE, a 24-hour multidisciplinary emergency and critical care hospital in Collingwood, is seeking an experienced ECC veterinarian. The role suits someone who enjoys a busy shift and wants a varied caseload, with a supportive team led by Dr Christine Lovatt DAVCECC and supported by a core of membership-qualified ECC vets.

Key responsibilities

• Treat primary accession and referred cases in the emergency and critical care department
• Share care of hospitalised patients from the emergency caseload and other specialist departments
• Manage ICU cases, often with input from several specialist disciplines, with case follow-up

Required profile

• DVM degree or equivalent with veterinary registration in Victoria (essential)
• Experience in an emergency setting desirable but not required; a great attitude is valued
• Interest in and some experience of routine and emergency surgery is ideal
• Team player, good communicator, committed to compassionate, high-quality care
