Emergency and Critical Care Vet Nurse

About the role

CARE, a veterinary emergency and critical care service, is looking for a qualified Cert IV vet nurse to join its busy Emergency department. You will work alongside experienced vets and nurses caring for a wide range of cases, from triage through to discharge. The role is available part-time or full-time, with day, evening, overnight and weekend shifts, and offers generous remuneration including significant shift loading for hours outside weekday daytime.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to critically ill and injured patients from triage through their entire hospital journey
• Work in a multidisciplinary team, assisting with anaesthesia, procedures and surgery
• Perform diagnostic sample collection and process tests
• Communicate with pet owners, give guidance, answer questions and support them during emotionally difficult times

Required profile

• Qualified Cert IV vet nurse with a minimum of 3+ years' experience
• Prior ECC experience not required; a solid baseline of veterinary nursing knowledge and skills is sought
• Motivated, enthusiastic and eager to learn, able to embrace challenges and work with the team to find solutions
