Emergency Medicine Staff Specialist – Tertiary Teaching Hospital

About the role

This full‑time, permanent position is based in a high‑performing Emergency Department of a 550‑bed tertiary teaching hospital in Tasmania. The role offers strong clinical leadership opportunities, extensive junior support, and access to state‑of‑the‑art facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality emergency medical care to a diverse patient population.
• Provide clinical leadership within the Emergency Department.
• Promote quality‑improvement and patient‑safety initiatives.
• Supervise and educate registrars, HMOs and other health professionals.
• Contribute to departmental teaching and training programmes.
• Collaborate with consultants and the Head of Department.

Required profile

• Experienced Emergency Medicine Staff Specialist.
• Current or eligibility for Specialist Registration with AHPRA.
• Eligibility for Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or similar.
• Experience working in an ACEM‑accredited training environment.
• Commitment to academic engagement and mentorship.
