Electrical Project Manager

About the role

A national contractor delivering projects in resources, energy and infrastructure is recruiting an experienced Electrical Project Manager for its inner-city office. The client is one of Australia's leading construction companies, specialising in the resource industry and delivering renewables and oil and gas projects across Australia. The role covers the front end of renewable projects, including procurement, tenders and electrical design packages, and works alongside a Civil Project Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the electrical scope of works from design review through to tendering and execution
• Lead strategic procurement, securing long-lead electrical items and managing subcontractor agreements
• Oversee planning, programming and scheduling to meet project milestones
• Act as key point of contact for clients, managing technical expectations
• Travel to site to oversee initial site establishment, logistics setup and handover to the construction team
• Make occasional site visits to check safety, quality and technical specifications

The position is office-based; travel is required for initial site setup and handover, then back to the office with occasional site visits once construction is underway.

Required profile

• Proven track record delivering ($100M+) major energy or infrastructure projects in the electrical field
• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline
• Prior technical exposure to renewable energy projects such as solar, wind or BESS is essential
• Experience navigating tenders, estimating and contracts
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage client relationships and work with multidisciplinary engineering teams
