Electrical Project Engineer – Gas Infrastructure

About the role

Altrad is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join its East Coast Gas Infrastructure business. The role will support the delivery of electrical and instrumentation works on complex brownfield and greenfield gas projects across Australia, ensuring safety, schedule, budget and quality targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering and technical support throughout all project phases, complying with Australian Standards and client specifications.
• Manage electrical subcontractors, including scope development, planning, procurement coordination and field execution to handover.
• Develop project schedules, reporting and forward work plans while identifying and mitigating risks.
• Prepare and manage project documentation such as MDRs, work packs, ITPs, ITRs, RFIs, technical queries and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
• Support procurement activities, material management and cost control.
• Offer technical support to construction teams to ensure installations meet quality, safety and engineering standards.
• Oversee electrical construction, testing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Champion Altrad's HSEQ culture by promoting safe work practices and maintaining compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering electrical engineering solutions on gas infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing electrical subcontractors and coordinating procurement.
• Ability to develop schedules, reports and risk mitigation plans.
• Familiarity with preparing MDRs, work packs, ITPs, ITRs, RFIs and MOC documentation.
• Strong technical support skills for construction teams.
