Electrical Engineer – Shipboard Maintenance

About the role

Join Coral Expeditions, a pioneering Australian cruise line, as an Electrical Engineer responsible for maintaining the ship's electrical systems. You will work on a roster of typically 6 weeks on‑board followed by 6 weeks off, with longer periods for international voyages.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain all electrical motors, generators, main and emergency switchboards, fire alarm, PA, AV/IT, navigation lights and equipment on both the mother vessel and tender boats.
• Rectify electrical defects recorded in the hotel defect book, manage refrigeration and IAS testing, and ensure compliance with AMSA and Class documentation.

Required profile

• Electrical qualification and Certificate of Safety Training (CoST) endorsed by AMSA.
• Valid Seafarer’s Book, AMSA medical certificate, passport and ability to obtain remote first aid, confined space, crowd control and maritime security certifications.
