Electrical Engineer – Power Generation (Early‑career)

About the role

We are looking for an early‑career Electrical Engineer to join our Power Generation team. The role focuses on the maintenance, refurbishment and optimisation of large synchronous generators on thermal and hydro assets across Australia. You will work hands‑on in plant environments, solving technical problems, supporting outages and commissioning, and collaborating with Toshiba’s global engineering network.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues on synchronous generators.
• Assist with site works, including outages, inspections and commissioning activities.
• Prepare outage scopes, technical reports, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and commissioning documentation.
• Coordinate equipment refurbishment with workshops and subcontractors.
• Maintain technical documentation, site issue registers and support client technical discussions.
• Adhere to company HSE and quality systems while working on site.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 1–3 years of experience in power, heavy industry or a related field.
• Interest in rotating machinery, generators or high‑voltage systems.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Clear communication and proactive mindset.
• Willingness to travel and work on‑site during outages.
