Education Support Trainee (Certificate III, IV or Diploma)

About the role

Westvic Staffing Solutions, in partnership with Fish Creek & District Primary School, is offering an Education Support Traineeship starting in Term One 2027. It is a full-time, supervised position for someone who wants to gain experience working with children in a school setting. The trainee works under the guidance and direct supervision of a teacher and completes online study for a nationally recognised Certificate III, IV or Diploma in School Based Education Support.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with student educational activities and programs, and contribute to the design, planning, implementation, documentation and evaluation of programs
• Facilitate learning and development for young children and support daily routines and transitions
• Care for students' social, emotional and physical needs and monitor them during classroom and outdoor activities
• Support literacy and numeracy, students with EAL, and students with disability and additional needs such as ASD
• Help teachers supervise students and assist with yard duty, canteen, out-of-school hours care and excursions (overnight school camps may be required)
• Prepare materials, equipment and classrooms, and assist with administration and staff meetings
• Promote positive behaviour, safety, health and well-being, and identify and respond to children at risk

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Confidentiality and adherence to Child Safe practices
• Completion of online study for a nationally recognised School Based Education Support qualification
