eCommerce SEO Specialist (Melbourne)

About the role

Megantic is looking for a commercially‑driven eCommerce SEO Specialist to join its Melbourne office. You will act as the primary technical and strategic advisor for a portfolio of eCommerce clients, shaping a 12‑month rolling SEO programme and overseeing its execution across global teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain a rolling 12‑month SEO & AEO roadmap for dedicated eCommerce accounts.
• Lead client consultations, present performance data, and translate technical findings into clear business insights.
• Conduct deep technical audits covering site architecture, crawl budgets, schema markup, internal linking, page speed, and mobile responsiveness.
• Optimize platforms such as Shopify, Magento 2, WooCommerce, Neto/Maropost and headless/PWA frameworks.
• Collaborate with content, development and other internal teams across Megantic’s global network.

Required profile

• Based in Melbourne and able to work three days per week on‑site.
• 2+ years of proven SEO experience with a strong focus on eCommerce or online retail.
• Demonstrated client‑facing abilities, including expectation management and stakeholder presentations.
• Commercial mindset – understanding that SEO success is measured by conversions and revenue.
• Immediate availability (able to start within 4‑8 weeks) and full Australian work rights.

Required skills

• Ability to read and understand HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Proficiency with Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Looker Studio, Google Tag Manager and Screaming Frog.
• Hands‑on experience with Shopify, Magento 2, WooCommerce, Neto, Maropost and headless commerce/PWA environments.
