Early Childhood Teacher (Preschool)

About the role

Mallee Track Health and Community Service is recruiting an Early Childhood Teacher (reference PD36) for its Preschool in Manangatang. The position delivers developmentally informed programs to children aged 3 to 6 enrolled at the Preschool, and support to other centres in the cluster may be required. It is advertised as part time (27 hours per week), though full time is negotiable, and is open-ended.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure children's developmental outcomes are met and progress.
• Lead program planning and create a learning environment that responds to each child's developmental abilities.
• Lead professional, developmentally informed observations of children.
• Oversight of a child and family centred service, encouraging parent involvement in the program.
• Implement the School Readiness Funding program and ensure compliance with relevant Acts, regulations and standards.
• Meet professional development requirements under the VECTEA industrial award and keep up to date with industry standards and guidelines.
• Collaborate and network with colleagues across the catchment.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent qualification approved by Early Childhood Australia (fully qualified).
• Current driver's licence, police check and VIT full registration.
• Interest in improving family health through children's services and sound knowledge of early childhood development.
• Desirable: experience developing and implementing Quality Improvement Plans.
