Driving Instructor

About the role

NRMA is hiring a full-time, permanent driving instructor for its driving school, which won the 2026 Finder's Most Loved Driving School award. The role is based in Kogarah and offers guaranteed 38 hours per week, with rosters provided in advance and shifts focused on weekends and before and after school hours, Monday to Sunday between 7am and 8pm.

Key responsibilities

• Teach learner drivers tailored lessons based on the NRMA Driver Training Curriculum
• Develop skills to deliver the NSW Safer Drivers Course, become an Older Driver Assessor and act as an authorised trainer for the Corporate Driver Training program
• Provide customer service and adapt to different customer learning styles and needs

Required profile

• Valid NSW Driving Instructor Licence
• Valid NSW C class driver's licence
• Valid Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
• Willingness to obtain the TfNSW Safer Drivers Course (minimum module 2) accreditation
• Willingness to obtain Older Driver Assessment qualifications when eligible (requires 3 years of driving instructor experience)
• Willingness to undertake Cert IV Training and Assessment and to be upskilled in driver training products

• Strong understanding of NSW road rules and regulations
• Effective diary management and time management
