Driver Trainer

About the role

ALDI is looking for a Driver Trainer to join its Transport team and help develop safe, confident driving skills across its fleet. The trainer delivers high-quality support to drivers using best-practice procedures and ensures training meets required standards. The position is based in Dandenong South, with a 12pm start Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and develop drivers to reach full compliance and performance standards.
• Facilitate the Basic Fatigue Management Course (TLIF0005 and TLIF0006, or equivalent) and the Safe Heavy Vehicle Driving Behaviours course (TLIC3037A or equivalent).
• Conduct site inspections for backhaul supplier sites.
• Provide support for Transport audits.
• Train and develop new employees, including creating starter telematics accounts and their training plans.
• Lead a team culture focused on safety, continuous learning, professionalism and compliance, and support the development of team members.
• Ensure driving and mechanical handling equipment is operated lawfully, safely and efficiently, with vehicles shut down or recharged after use.
• Report safety incidents, damages and operational issues promptly to the Direct Leader.
• Ensure Logistics Department employees comply with current legislation and ALDI requirements, and that adequate records are kept.

Required profile

• Current heavy vehicle (HC) or motorcycle (MC) licence.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent.
• Ideally experience using telematics platform data or similar to support compliance and auditing.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with clear and engaging communication skills.
